Union County Little League

The Purpose of a Scorebook

A scorebook in Little League is the official record of a game and is used to track every pitch, at-bat, and defensive play. It's used during the game to confirm who's next to bat, how many pitches the pitcher has thrown, and where runners are on base. After the game, the scorebook is used to calculate player and team statistics.

At this time Union County Little League still requires a paper scorebook and pitch count to be recorded. Coaches are welcome to use Game Changer, but it will not serve as the official record of the game. After each game a photo will be sent to the Secretary/Information officers email to update the website, and keep track of innings for players interested in playing All-Stars.

It is highly encouraged that all individuals interested in keeping scorebook, pitch count, or game changer attend the yearly scorebook training prior to the season.
